We are working with one of the largest Logistics & Freight companies in the UK on a project restructuring their team, and we have an opportunity for a Head of Procurement - Corporate Services. 

This is a growing team in a new centralised function, your aim will be to lead the Corporate Services Procurement Team and oversee the efficient spend of c. £200m p.a. whilst ensuring that internal customers receive the goods and services that they need to operate safely and efficiently, leading by example in the strive for continuous improvement in procurement and supply chain, in a rapidly changing environment, whilst setting and achieving the day to day goals of supporting a busy operational business

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to collaborating with the Procurement Director and broader team in developing a framework of procurement processes, systems and data that is best in class. Delivering agreed savings, on a whole life cost basis, whilst ensuring that the business receives the goods and services that it needs. Providing comprehensive hand-over packs and briefings to the business at the end of each procurement event to assist seamless mobilisation of new suppliers, lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) & Contract Management for strategic contracts so that suppliers deliver on their promises. And to lead, coach, develop and support direct reports and broader procurement team members in what they do and how they do it to enhance business outcomes and team members’ careers.

You will need to be able to display proven effective interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build relationships and influence at senior levels across the business and Group. Developed stakeholder management skills, with strong commercial, analytical, SRM, contract management and supplier negotiation skills. MCIPs or equivalent experience is desired.


Travel will be involved as part of the role; this will be fluid with an average of 2 days a week (although this may fluctuate depending on the issues at hand), nationally and potentially internationally.
