Business Development Manager – FM Services
East of central London
£40k to £45k plus commission
We have a newly created vacancy to offer for a Business Development Manager on behalf of our client, a service provider operating in the property and property maintenance sectors. In this role you will be reporting to the company Sales & Marketing Director, delivering a combination of new business opportunities and the development and growth of existing customer accounts. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a work winning team for a business delivering both hard and soft commercial property facilities services, playing a key role in the growth and future of the organisation.
We are seeking applicants with proven experience of new and existing business development within a facilities service's organisation across a combination of hard and soft services. Working with the Marketing Manager and the Communications Manager you will deliver an aligned and cohesive approach to developing new opportunities and maximising existing customer relationships. The role will be focussed upon commercial opportunities within the East London area, ideal applicants will live in or close to the area of focus.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
Working closely with the different areas of the business to understand overall business objectives to achieve business growth.
Use client and market data provided by the Marketing Manager to initiate contact, secure new business, and upsell services to existing clients.
Working closely with the Communications Manager and Marketing Manager to ensure a consistent and co-ordinated approach from careful strategic planning and positioning.
Engaging in networking opportunities.
Keep abreast of trends and changes in the industry and wider business world.
Cultivate new leads within the sales territory working towards KPI’s.
Travel throughout the region and visit customers on a recurring basis covering the local postcodes.
Manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
Maintain records of all sales leads and/or customer accounts in CRM system.
Represent the brand during all customer and prospect interactions.
Educate customers on how services can benefit them financially and professionally.
Monitor the company’s industry competitors and market conditions.
The ideal candidate:
Experience of selling across a range of hard and soft FM services to commercial industries.
Articulate – excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to demonstrate extensive experience as Business Development Manager within the facilities and maintenance industry.
Able to demonstrate previous successes.
Experience of working for a company providing services rather than products.
Able to build constructive relationships with stakeholders and to work cooperatively and effectively within and across teams.
Excellent attention to detail
Confident, tenacious and resilient
Personable and approachable with an ability to influence through personal credibility and impact.
Lives within the East London/ Essex area
