Procurement Manager (Strategic/Senior)
Up to £80k plus up to 20% bonus plus car allowance
We are very pleased to present a great opportunity to truly influence and directly affect the value proposition and methods of working of this large procurement function and make an impact on the experience of over 15 million customers. The wider procurement function manages an addressable spend in the region of £1.5bn annually and serves most of London and Thames Valley.
We are seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to lead a team of ten with varying levels of experience in a strategic function while acting as a key figure or a number 2 to the current Head of Procurement. The function has done some great work up to this point, it's time for the next step in the departments evolution. The next phase in the journey of progress is about driving the value proposition of this procurement team up the value chain, moving the function from being a reactive service provider to being a key part of business wide decision making and a source of effective value adding solutions.
We are looking for a senior figure with a proven background of evolving and developing the value proposition of strategic procurement teams. You will have achieved this through good analytical skills, the application of effective ways or working and driving performance through effective KPI's.
You will be skilled in influencing the behaviours and thought processes of others and have a proven track record of moving teams from reactive service provision through to being a proactive provider of solutions aligned to business plans and strategies. You will have a customer centric approach and an understanding of the importance of providing a value add solution based service to stakeholder communities across the business with clear experience of delivering this in previous roles.
MCIPS qualification and a degree would be nice to have, the business does work to structured tendering processes aligned to the CIPS trained methodology but in this case it's more about you, the person. We are looking for someone in this role that can command the respect of teams, peers and executive senior management teams. You will inspire confidence through elevating the value proposition of strategic procurement, developing the function into a position of mandatory involvement at the front of all business decision making processes. We want someone that will provide the business with solutions and opportunities rather than just getting what the business asks for.
