Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant – Walsall
Are you a passionate and resilient Teaching Assistant ready to make a real difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? This welcoming SEMH school in Walsall is looking for a dedicated Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team and support pupils in reaching their full potential.

As a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with teachers to support children on a 1-2-1 and small group basis, helping them to manage behaviour, engage with learning, and develop confidence. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who thrives in a nurturing, structured, and supportive school environment where every child is valued and encouraged to succeed.

Job Role:
• Providing 1-2-1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Supporting the class teacher in managing behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to help them engage in learning.
• Assisting with the delivery of tailored interventions to support emotional and social development.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in pupils.
• Working collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.

Requirements:
• Experience supporting children with SEMH or challenging behaviours (essential).
• A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach to working with children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Ideally hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
