Job Description
An exceptional special school in East Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled SEND Teacher to join their dedicated team, teaching primary-aged pupils with a range of complex learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about delivering high-quality, personalised education and making a lasting difference in the lives of young learners.
As a SEND Teacher in this role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that enable every pupil to thrive. Pupils in the school present with diverse needs including Autism, Complex Needs, PMLD, communication impairments, and additional physical or sensory needs. You will have the support of talented teaching assistants, specialist therapists, and a leadership team committed to ensuring pupils reach their full potential. This role is ideal for a Primary Teacher or SEND teacher looking for a rewarding role with progression opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering lessons tailored to individual needs and abilities
- Embedding communication, social, and independence skills into daily learning
- Working alongside teaching assistants to provide consistent and effective support
- Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and multi-agency professionals
- Encouraging emotional regulation and resilience through structured routines and strategies
- Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment
- QTS with a passion for working in a SEND setting (SEND experience desirable but not essential)
- An understanding of strategies to support pupils with complex learning needs
- The creativity to adapt resources and lessons to meet varied learning styles
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- A commitment to improving the educational experience and outcomes of pupils with SEND
