Children’s Social Worker, Kinship Care Fostering Team, Blackburn 
Pay rate £35 to £39 per hour 
Contract role, Kinship Care Fostering Team 
 
We are recruiting for experienced Children’s Social Worker in the Blackburn area. 
This to work in a Kinship Care Fostering Team 

• To provide direct and indirect support to special guardians and kinship families, the child/ren in their care and their families.  

• To assess the suitability of prospective family and friends carers in accordance with National Minimum Standards, Fostering Services Regulations 2011 and Special Guardianship Regulations 2016. 

• To attend Family Group conferences to identify potential family members to be assessed. 

• To attend court to present assessment reports as and when required. 

• To support and supervise carers by advising and supervising them, in meeting the needs of looked after children in accordance with Fostering Regulations, NMS and Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations 2010 (amended 2015). 

• To support carers to achieve permanence through SGO both before and after the order is issued. 

• To prepare assessment reports for the Fostering Panel, SGO Panel and other reports as required. 

• To attend multi-agency meetings, which can include CIN meetings, contact planning  
  meetings, family group conferences, care planning meetings, CLA reviews, risk  
  management meetings, legal meetings.
