The Role
As a Senior or Semi-Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting your clients with a full range of accounting, compliance, and advisory services. You’ll manage client relationships, oversee junior team members, and ensure all work is delivered accurately and on time.
Your responsibilities as a Senior or Semi-Senior Accountant will include:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, management accounts, VAT returns, tax returns, and bookkeeping for a range of clients.
- Ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards (UK GAAP/IFRS) and tax regulations.
- Acting as a trusted adviser, handling client queries and providing guidance on accounting and business matters.
- Assisting clients with accounting software including Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.
- Supervising, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior accountants and trainees.
- Maintaining high standards of quality control and compliance across all deliverables.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance client service and internal processes.
To be considered for this Senior / Semi-Senior Accountant position, you should have/be:
- Qualified or part-qualified: AAT, ACA, ACCA (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax legislation.
- Proficient in accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks); experience with CCH is a plus.
- Confident in client communication, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
