Steel Mill Operative

A long established heavy manufacturing Company based in North Birmingham require a Steel Mill Operative for their state of the art casting and rolling business.

Annual Salary: £29,000 plus £3,000 guaranteed production bonus
Weekly Shifts: 6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm / 10pm to 6am

Job Role:

• Operating a machine on a shearing/slitting line
• Loading coils onto machines using overhead cranes,
• Following written instructions, recording process details,
• Using automated controls to process the material, inspect coils for quality and basic computer usage.
• The successful candidate will have a proven track record in working in an industrial environment and using one's own initiative.
• Preference will be give to those candidates who hold a Fork Lift counterbalance truck
