Job Description

Pertemps are recruiting for a facilities technician to join our clients on-site engineering team based out of St Athan on a permanent basis.

Location: St Athan

Shifts: Monday - Friday 39 hours.

Salary: DOE

The Role:
  • As a facilities technician you will be responsible for all planned and reactive maintenance on all facilities across the site in a safe manner in line with all Health and Safety requirements.
  • Carry out preventive and reactive maintenance on building fabric, facilities equipment, and site infrastructure with minimal disruption to production.
  • Execute the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and contribute to its ongoing development and improvement.
  • Carry out all required work in line with all appropriate risk assessments
  • Identify ways of improving current maintenance schedule and assist in implementation of new systems
  • Work with sub-contractors to ensure work complies with site requirements
  • To work independently and part of team to support continuous improvement
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations
  • Provide "out-of-hours" reactive support as and when required

Requirements:
  • Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in fabrication, welding, and basic electrical wiring
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC, AHUs, boilers, compressed air systems, and water treatment
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety systems, risk assessments, and CAFM/CMMS platforms
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Essential:
  • NVQ Level 2 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition Electrical
  • IPAF

Desirable:
  • NVQ Level 3 or HNC in Engineering
  • F-Gas Certification
  • Electrical Testing & Inspection
  • Gas Safe
  • Forklift
