Interim Procurement Consultant

Initial 3 month contract

Location: Oxford

Day rate: Circa £500 per day

Do you have a demonstrable record of successfully leading procurement functions through exciting transformation programmes? Are you a proven leader with the ability to take spend data and identify trends and saving opportunities?

You will conduct a full summary of total spend, by category, across the firm and provide a high level summary of financial opportunities.

Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced interim Procurement Specialist to join their team to work closely with stakeholders to show the strategic value of procurement. You will lead on the negotiations and management of procurement activity to identify opportunities to increase value for money on contracts negotiated and future proof requirements and future needs.

This role is to be based in their office in Oxford.

This person will have experience to working at a greenfield site as no procurement department is in place at present and have worked across a range of Direct Categories. It is also critically important that this individual has experience with working with international suppliers.


Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee Regional procurement activities to drive efficiencies and savings and mitigate risk, without impacting on quality
• Implement and direct a framework to control the approach to procurement and establish recommendations and procedures for the regional procurement of services and suppliers
• Lead tender process, production of RFI and RFP's and negotiations for agreeing supplier contracts (directly or supporting internal customers)
• Lead on sourcing of appropriate suppliers and supplier relationship management
• Advise and assist business with the development and management of key contracts and oversee the cost benefit case to support their use
• Design and implement methods to improve procurement data collection and analysis and a reporting framework monitoring procurement deliverables and governance
• Facilitate greater cross country collaboration in relation to procurement, centralising spend areas


• Have experience of leading a procurement function.
• Display a demonstrable track record of success in short term project procurement roles.
• Experience of using spend data and analytics to identify trends and opportunities.
• You will be a strong communicator with the ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders.
