Do you have a passion for procurement, adding value and saving money? If so our client is seeking an ambitious and hardworking procurement professional to join their dynamic and highly innovative team as part of their continued expansion.
You will be expected to deliver day to day procurement services and advice on behalf of clients as well as run from start to finish the delivery of allocated procurement projects. You will lead and be influential in managing day to day procurement activities, monitoring and delivering the procurement process and to enhance the organisations reputation as a leader in this growing area. Customer relationship management is critical to ensure ongoing success as is the ability to think commercially.
Procurement experience in the public sector as well as some commercial private sector experience is ideal, however, for the right attitude they are willing to consider all procurement backgrounds. This will include understanding public rules and regulations, experience running tenders from beginning to end, contract management, and managing the supply chain, with a proven record of delivering best value, high service levels and non-pay savings.
OJEU experience and CIPS qualification would be advantageous, but it is more important that you have customer and supplier relationship management skills, a good amount of commercial acumen, a highly agile approach to delivering multiple concurrent projects, and flexibility to work in a start up environment.
• To undertake the scoping, tender and specification development, tender management, evaluation, placement and monitoring of a portfolio of public sector contracts using e procurement platform.
• To procure appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practice with due regard to client priorities, ethical purchasing standards and whole of life costing.
• To scrutinise project and supplier data, identifying risks and concerns. Raising client concerns and project risks early. Proposing and implementing solutions and seeking advice where necessary.
• Assist the Delivery Manager with the pipeline update and forecast.
